    Hi

Does anyone have any experience with using mysql with other encoding charsets like big5 or gb or japanese?

Are there any complications? i hear that mysql is not Unicode enabled. will that cause problems?

    Thanks

That's why you should use Postgres in your situation.

really? how good is Postgres? I seem to hear more about mySQL when the topic of Linux comes up.

How does Postgres compare with mySQL?

    Thanks

    >>really?

Yup. PostgreSQL has multibyte encoding support including Big5 (c), GB and many others while MySQL doesn't have such support at this moment.
