Tables or Views...What should i choose?

    Hello Guys,
I know which are the differences between Tables and Views but which are the cases when it should be useful to use one instead of the other one?
For example if I have a lot of data, like 20K rows, should Views works good?

Really tnx a lot to everybody.
    Bye
    Paolo.

The real question you need to ask is: Is all the data held within the one or more tables that your planning on showing, should it be viewable by all or not?

Say you had three tables for example and it was employee data, well you might only want the data that would show their Name and address, but not their salary info. So you would build a view that would select just the needed data that you were interested in. Also this is a question on permissions of whom can and should see selected data. Maybe depending on the user you create multiple views that show different amounts/levels of the data.

There is a bit of thought required for this on how the data is to be used and etc.

You can't store data in a view; you can't have a view without a table. Use of a view is always determined by functionality, because there are no performance advantages to using one.
