    MySqlDump still ask for password

    Hi members

I use the following in a .bat or .cmd file.

    mysqldump -u root -p --result-file="c:\Mydb.sql" MyDBase

The MyDBase has root as user and no password ie -p. Inspite of no password, a dialog box will always pop up asking for the password which i just Enter.

But i want to avoid this dialog box all together, how to do it?

Tony that's sure as sun rise. Thanks.

This is a great forum, after just 2 postings, both answers are good, relevant with solution found. Will certainly keep this forum at top of my help list.

I also found that if there is a password for the dbase, using -ppassword, there is also no dialog.
