2 simple sql questions

Hi everyone,

(1). My web hosting provider is using MS SQL 2008 R2 Express. How secure is MS SQL 2008 R2 Express ?

From 1 to 10.

1 is the least secure. And 10 is the most secure.

What is your rate ?

(2). If I find the web hosting using the the commercial verison like Enterprise Edition of MS SQL 2008 instead of the MS SQL 2008 R2 Express. Then does it mean my data is more secured storing on the MS SQL 2008 Enterprise Edition ?

Thanks,

May

All webhosts no matter what type should use the latest stable version of software. Mainly because this includes security updates.

But that doesn't necessarily make your data safe. Giving a grade to your security would give a false impression. The application that interacts with the database could be unsafe also. The server itself could also be insecure.

Although I really doubt the difference between those versions is security. It probably has other features, that are useful for big and bigger companies
