Help in Developeing a new system in VB.net
i am currently working on upgrading a financial database system which was developed using MS Access 97 VBA... the problem with the existing system is that it doesn;t let me upgrade the OS. so I need to change it
I have two things in mind .
1. Use sql server and VB.net so that it is accessible on the net
2. Use a mysql server with VB.net but I don't know if it will work equally like the way it will work with SQL sever .. I would prefer using this one becasue it is already installed on the server and I don't have to purchase the SQl server and reinstall evrything on the main server .
What do u thnk is a better idea..
I took over from a person who started it using DBMan SQL with a mysql server running on Linux 8.0.. but I feel that it cannot support many of the features that are required.. It is accessible on the internet .. but fails at many places ...
So can some one suggest me something good .. its a going to be a big system with more that 50 people working on it at the sametime ..

I think the best thing to do is start from scratch, nothing better than doing it from the beging AGAIN!
Just a thought, Use it, dont use it
One last thing, Option 2 at the top sounds the best...
