Well, "Plug and Play" is a phrase usually used regarding devices. I'm assuming you [more precisely] mean a plugin architecture.
There are a lot of examples out there of existing plugin frameworks using .NET, and they all involve a lot of Reflection. The plugin assemblies and types will need Attributes. You'll have to load assemblies in a sandbox AppDomain. You'll have to write classes that host different types of plugins. There's enough to write a small-to-medium book over the subject. And aside from numerous you could find by googling ".net plugin framework", there are also numerous open-source programs such as Paint.NET and SharpDevelop that one could study. |
