My Dear friend I would say you are doing a mistake by faking experience in .NET. But anyway, its your choice.

I am currently working on VB.NET project and the biggest problem I am facing is the Object Oriented Approach.
What I have been doing since last few years in VB/ VBA & ASP was procedural method of programming. But .NET is different and definately it takes time to learn and master it.

And ofcourse there are various implementation issues too. Anyhow, my sincere advise to you atleast read through few books. You can download dlls & .NET platform software for free from microsoft. But you cannot have .NET Studio for free. If you are hard core programmer you can manage with notepad.

Wish You good luck.

any example

hi...

thanks a lot for the response. I really agree with ur advise but seeign the market situation i need to act fast ...else i will be left behind without a job.

I haven't worked on asp.net ever before. This might seem irritating for some but I have very little time to learn .net. If i pick any book and start one chapter by chapter it will take me a long time. Rather I am following a quick approach (though not advisable). AS far As i can understand if i do the following things it will surely help me understand asp.net to a level where i can say i have worked on asp.net. I would really seek experts advise on this case:

1. display data retrieved from database
2. Accept user input and save in database.
3. Modify data in database based on user input data.
4. Call one form from another
5. Pass variable from one form to another

I wanted to know that is my approach correct to start with???

Also can anyone help me with some examples on these? I have installed VS.net on my machine and tried the "HELLO WORLD " Program. Now I want to connect ASP.net with Oracle and perform simple database operations?

Would really appreciate if anyone can give me any examples to work on this.

thanks a lot.
