Use Of Robots Meta Tag

The robots meta tag is a part of a web page that communicates information to search engine robots. The robots meta tag is written within the <head> of an HTML file and looks something like this:

<meta name=”robots” content=”noindex, nofollow, noodp, noydir, nosnippet”>

Here is what you can put inside the “content”

Hi Diya,

The robots meta tag is used to tell search engines what content you do NOT want them to index, follow, and/or archive. If you don't want to restrict the search engine crawlers, you do not need to use this tag (by default, search engine crawlers are allowed to index, follow, and archive each page on your website).

For a very detailed description of how to use the robots meta tag, check out this guide: webgnomes.org/blog/robots-meta-tag-definitive-guide/
