.net framework question
We have created a software application that requires libraries found in the 3.5 .NET framework.
Our engineerings are trying to figure out whether we should bundle the .NET framework in our installer or add functionality that will redirect the user to the Microsoft website to download the .NET framework. This solution is only needed for pre-Windwos 7 machines as Win7 comes with the 3.5 library already.
Our software application is a total of 5MB. If we bundle the .NET framework our application increases in size to over 100+MB.
What is the best approach to this problem? Do we bundle the 3.5 framework or create a function to force a download from Microsoft's server and have the user install the framework manually.
Please let me know. Thank you and appreciate your opinion and feedback.

If your software gets downloaded not bought in a hard copy i would go with the download option since it makes the orginal download smaller and only affects those users that require the actual framework.
