2 LAN computers can't connect to same game server?
There's this game my brother likes a lot and he said I should try it. The only problem is that we can't play in the same time... The game pops up the error message "A player is already signed in with the IP address (my ip here)."
This IP address is the IP address of my gateway (a router). Howcome the game server looks at "that" IP address instead of the one of the actual computer? Is there a way to get around this or is a problem with the way the game was programmed? Thanks |

first of all you should contact the game server host.
The "game" can ONLY see your wan port address [that's the one provided by the isp]. Due to NAT your internal ip addresses are hidden from the world [this is a good thing] Sounds like a problem with the game server config. Doesn't make sense only one machine on one subnet can get on at a time. |

It's ok... I did. It's just the way the game is made. It was to make sure people don't cheat? <--- didn't get why/how tho.
