2003 DHCP queries
Hi,
I have a network with 20 PC's and a DHCP/ICS server, what I want to do is set up 3 of the PC's as admins with access to all ports. The other 17 would have limited access to a few specific ports, or better yet shape them down to say 5 k/bps. The basic idea I had was to reserve 3 of the 20 Ip's in the DHCP settings by putting the mac id's of the network cards in, then have the rest on auto assign. The part I don't get is where do i say what ip's have what ports? Any input is welcome... Cheers Last edited by Moap : May 11th, 2004 at 11:59 AM. |

Do you want to limit the connection speed allowed to the Internet from several computers? You'll need additional software to achieve this - the basic Internet Connection Sharing software does not allow you to control access for specific computers.

well ultimateley that would be nice to do, so if you have any suggestions for 3rd party software please let me know. But if no one knows about any then maybe you know how I can totaly block the ports instead?

I would suggest Kerio WinRoute - I think it can do everything that you want to do.
Just thought that you could enable TCP/IP filtering on the network connections on the computers to restrict, and then only allow certain ports through there. |
