a stupid question about PING!
Hello there,
I have a rather stupid question about the PING utility, can someone indicate exactly at which layer does the PING utility work in a layered networking approach, i.e. data link layer or transport layer? ![]() |

Ping uses ICMP which is IP datagrams or layer 3 (network layer)
ping command (which stands for "Packet Internetwork Groper") |
