ADSL Static Ip problem
Hi,
I have a static IP from my ISP which goes through a router, to my computer. When I try to connect to the static IP through IE in the form HTTP://80.175.231.82 (which is the static IP I cant get through. I can get to the gateway though using HTTP://80.175.231.81 I appreciate it may be a router problem, but I am struggling to see a solution. Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem may be? Thanks |

"I have a static IP from my ISP which goes through a router, to my computer"
Normally the routers wan interface is set to that ip address not your computer. You would have a different address since your computer would be on the lan side of the router. You can not http to your own ip address since you are not running any web products locally. You should be able to ping your own ip address. Lets start with some questions 1. is this your router and did you configure it? Or when you say router do you mean the ISPs modem? 2. if you go to a cmd/command prompt and type ipconfig what is your ip address? Gateway? 3. what is the problem you are having? Can't get on the internet? Has this worked before or is it a new setup? |
