Apache behind a wireless Router

Okay...I know this topic has been posted many times before...and I'm sure it will be discussed after this post, but after reading so many posts from this site and countless other sites I still can't get to my website outside of my router (WAN side).

Equipment/Software:
DSL Modem
Buffalo WBR-G54
Apache 2.0.5
Windows XP Pro

Start from the WAN in...
I have a domain (example.com) with DNS services provided by DynDns.org.

example.com correctly goes to my router because when I type my domain name in my browser, it goes to my router configuration page, but that's obviously not the desired effect.

I have set up my Router's NAT table to forward requests from port 80 to the specific computer I have the Apache server installed. The specific computer is provided a specific IP address, but is still in the DHCP range (I don't think that would be the problem and because I also host a mail server that works fine...see below).

The Apache server is set to listen on the static IP address and on port 80 (I've also tried to let it listen on port 80 without specifying an IP/hostname). Behind the router, when I type example.com in my browser, it goes to my router configuration page. When I type in the specific computer's IP address into the browser, it displays the correct HTML page.

I thought it might be that my ISP is blocking port 80, but why would it even go to my router if that was the case. Well, trying as many solutions as I can I set up DynDNS to do a webhop and forward all requests to example.com to example.com:8000. I re-did my Router's NAT table to forward requests from example.com:8000 to the apache server listening on that same port.

When I type example.com into my browser, I get my router configuration page even after the port forwarding change.

I also have a mail server up using the same domain (example.com). It has a web email service that I have set-up successfully. It runs off of port 8080 and it worked fine last night when I was at a friends house and wanted to check my email. But what's weird is when I type the same address (example.com:8080) behind the router, I can't get to that webmail page (IP address is no problem).

What in the world might be happening? I feel it is most likely an Apache configuration error since I am by far the least experienced in setting this up.

Any reply is appreciated as I know I'm no expert when it comes to configuring Apache.

Hmmm... I'm not really a pro with apache myself... But I don't think it has anything to do with your apache configuration... If your apache config was wrong, it would still go to that computer but with a "Server Error"... I'm almost 100% sure it has to do with the router... I'd help you but my D-Link is messed up... (need a new one)
