Basic Network Question
Hello Everyone.I have a few questions regarding networking that i really need answers to.Here they are:
1. How do i create a server cluster
2.How does one access data stored in a slave computer of a cluster.
3.If i have a file containing 4GB of data,with a load-balancing cluster will it open faster
during programming tasks?
4.Is it possible to spread data all over the slave computers?
5.What is the difference between "save in memory" and "Save in File"
6.Can i have say like 10 data centers connected to each other, sharing the same files. If so
how is this achieved.
This are some of the questions bothering me.
Thanks in advance

1. what os
2. its not a slave. its a cluster. shared resources (if setup correctly). otherwise just map a drive to it
3. no.
4. again, shared.
5. wtf?
6. ....good lord. if you cant figure out the basics, you do NOT need a "datacenter"

While I do agree Kentispy, to be fair, these are not "basic" networking questions. Basic networking questions would be something such as, "what's an ip address?"

Yeah, this would probably be named better if it were to say:
"Server Clustering, everything there is to know about it"

how can you expect someone to tell you everything about server clustering? People take week long courses, read books to learn
so i strongly suggest you go to library or Indigo or Chapters and get a few books on Clustering and Load balancing.
There are different types, you can use a GSS&CSS or an F5 hardware to do load balancing. you can use software to do it..
just read the books to get started

Agreed, I know where I went to college there is a whole 14-week 3-credit class on clustering, load balancing, and NAS. It's quite a broad topic and to expect to work with 10 data centers without knowing anything is quite a task in itself.
This forum is about answering questions and doing so in such a way a person learns, not full start-to-finish how to guide.

You know, that's not all that basic of a question, haha.

People get paid to do this sort of work. Meaning its not something somebody just "tells you" and you're an expert. Use google, load some virtual machines, and figure it out.

In essence y'all are trying to tell me that my questions are not basic and are too broad to answer without practicals?.I totally agree.I'll just have to pay to learn it.
So,do i take a CCNA class or what?

Next to security, clustering is probably one of the most advanced server administration topics. There are many different ways to set up a server cluster, it depends on what the cluster is for, what OS and hardware you're using, what software will be running on the cluster, etc.
You don't necessarily have to pay for the information. All the information you want is probably on Google somewhere. For theory, wikipedia is great place to start as well.
A class dedicated to server clustering is probably going to be a pretty high level class with other pre-requisite classes.
And just for reference, a 10 data center cluster is immense. The only organizations with that much computing power are organizations like the DoD, Google, Akamai, etc. If you're honestly planning to set up a 10 data center cluster then you should hire a professional network engineer. Actually, considering the price tag on even a single datacenter, you could probably hire a few dozen professional network engineers and your budget wouldn't even feel it.
