Can NET USE but not NET VIEW
I have two WinXP computers on a peer-to-peer net. Computer A canbrowse computer B and see the available file and printer shares. However Computer B can see Computer A in the workgroup but I get an access denied message if I try to view the shares.
Now here's the strange part. If I go to the command prompt and type NET VIEW \\computer-a I get a System Error 5 (access denied). But if I type NET USE \\computer-a or NET USE Z: \\computer-a\c (c is the name of the drive c share) it maps the drive successfully. So why can I map drives to Computer A but not browse the computer for Explorer or view the NET VIEW \\computer-a command?
