Can't print through hub
Hi, please can anyone help with a configuration problem? I've just networked 2 pc's (1 XP, 1 2K) and a printer (HP Laserjet 8000N) via a Netgear hub. The pc's see the printer and recognise the sharing option but the printer still won't print.
I'm racking my brains as it all appears to be configured correctly but I'm obviously missing something. |

Are you able to ping the printer? Is there a web-based administration page that you can access?

Can't print through hub
Hi there - I can ping the printer through the XP pc but not through the 2k pc which is where the problem lies, possibly.
The printer was originally connected to the 2k pc via a parallel cable but now is connected through a network card via an ethernet cable to the hub. |

Sounds to me like it's not a network problem. It's a port problem in the 2k machine, I would guess. You CAN ping from XP? Then can you print from there as well?
In the sk machine, you'll need to go into the printer's port settings and reconfigure it to use the TCP/IP port that the printers on. Chris
