I have a linksys BEFSR41 4 Port Router http://www.linksys.com/products/product.asp?
And a 8 Port Linksys Switch EFAH08W

Ok so I have the internet into my router and then a cable from my router into the switch. I also have my comp in the router so I can leech more bandwidth
So my question is: I plan to buy a 500 ft cable spool on ebay and make my own cables for our house (college house)
Is it worth it to buy cat 6 cables over cat 5?
I'm pretty sure both the router and switch are 10/100 mbs per second. And I hear that cat 5 cables go at 100 mbps, cat 5e cables go at 200 mbps and cat 6 cables go at 600 mbps. So since the routers are set up to go 10/100 mbps is it worth it to buy cables above the standard cat 5 cables?
If its not worth it, then are there routers or switches that operate at the higher speeds?
Thanks for your help
Also, for xbox system link play is it worth it to buy cat 6 or cat 5e cables as opposed to just using standard cat 5 cables?
