Catalyst 2926T, VLANs, Trunking
I'm slightly confused, and I can't seem to find the answer in my CCNA material (or Google!). Most of my experience is in Catalyst 3500XLs and 6500 series routers, so this 2926 is a little archaic to me.
Anyway, I'm trying to enable a Catalyst 2926T for VLAN trunking. I have three VLANs (2, 3, and 4), and I want to trunk these three VLANs to port 2 on the supervisor engine. Here's the command I issue, and the result:
UNITED-C2926-031> (enable) set trunk 1/2 on 2-4
Adding vlan(s) 2-4 to allowed list.
Please use the 'clear trunk' command to remove vlans from allowed list.
Port(s) 1/2 allowed vlans modified to 1-1005.
Port(s) 1/2 trunk mode set to on.
Why is the switch trunking all VLANs and not the three I explicitly set? What am I missing here? By the way, a Cisco 2613 router will be connected to this port for inter-VLAN routing.
Also, in case it helps, nothing is connected to the switch yet. I want the switch configured before it's put into operation, that way all we have to do is plug it in, make final checks, and walk away.
