Cisico pix 506e
HELP!!! I've never setup CISCO PIX firewall but circumstances require that I figure how to install one, within 2 days! here's my setup, if anyone can help:
I have a data line coming from an IVAD unit, going into a switch. from there it splits in two: one goes to the router -> DCHP server -> workstations and another goes in the PIX firewall and out to the mail server. the DHCP on the PIX is disabled and the mail server and PIX both have external static IPs. i do not need a DMZ. can anyone point me to a step by step config guide, using the PDM. i need to know what ports to open, how and where, in the PDM.....the whole thing from the ground up |

pix 506e
Hows it going? I am new to the forum, but have been in it for a while.
paulkoan, I need to asked you some advice about my setup. I have a pix 506e that was setup 2-3 years ago by a former employee. He is gone and we can't even access the device. All we have is the user-name and password for the device. I was wondering if you had any ideas on how to connect to this thing anyway and get it reset so we can use it again. My setup is a cable connection coming into the office with a static ip address. cable modem - Linksys befcmu10 wireless linksys router - wrt54gs 1 windows vista machine 1 ubuntu/linux machine I can configure network, computers, or router any different way to make this work. Would be willing to to buy quality beer or wine, in appreciation for help. thanks, Paul |
