Ok, I use comcast internet services. I need a new IP badly. (long story). Anyway I know comcast gets there IPs based on Mac addresses. I use Windows 2000 and a Linksys router. Anyways whenever I change the routers MAC address and then renew the DHCP it gets nothing. Can anyone help me. I NEED A NEW IP PLEASE

Most times when you are on a Cable Internet Service that is giving you an IP address based on your MAC address, if you change the NIC or MAC address that is connecting to the internet you will need to contact the Provider to have them remove your old MAC out of the ARP table. Doing this will allow your new MAC to connect up to the internet. But this may not necessarily give you a new IP address it will just give you a new MAC address.
