Curious Wireless Card Problem

My wireless card sees the AP, status monitor shows packets being sent but none being recieved. . .

I've updated the card driver. Checked for firewall conflicts. Gone over the TCP/IP config. Got a wireless client manager from Agere, card mfg. it says data is being sent and recieved, but the windows LAN status for the wireless card shows data being sent but none received. When I am at home I check my AP's IP and set the static IP and all works fine. I am now at a hotel where they can't tell me the IP, so I'm stumped. The automatic IP addressing 'should' work.

Anybody have any ideas about how I should proceed?
