Dead Cisco Catalyst 2900 XL
I have a Catalyst 2900XL Series here in front of me.
The switch was unused for over a year. Now I plugged in the power cable but the switch is not booting. The system led is orange and all port leds are green. Expect the first port led, this led is orange. I can not connect via serial cable. What´s wrong here? Thank for your help. |

Have you made a physical inspection of the inside? Very carefully blow it out with canned air/vacuum and inspect the PCB for damage/corrosion. If everything looks OK try booting again. If that doesn't work it could be a major HW failure. Was it working when last used? Has it been connected to anything that could have spiked it even though it was not on?

hold in the mode button while booting ( about 30 seconds )this will launch you into rommon mode see if you can access anything through this.
