DI-704P Router Internet Trouble

Hi, I have windows XP Pro on two computers at home. I have cable internet at home. I decided that I needed a router to split the connection so I purchased the DI-704P.

I connected both computers as the manual said and It configured fine. I was able to access both computers through the network and transfer files etc...

But when I tried to connect to the internet I get "Connecting Through WAN miniport (PPPoE)..." and it just stalls at that and then says that the remote computer did not respond in a timely manner. By unplugging the cable from the WAN port of my router and connecting it into my computer directly I am able to access the net just fine.

The WAN light on my router is green and on when the cable is connected.

When I access the routers settings and configuration page from one of my computers and look in the STATUS page. It says, under the heading WAN, "DHCP client disconnected" and if I press "renew DHCP" it tries to connect saying "connecting to DHCP" but then it fails and says the prev. message. When I look under stats for WAN it says "64 send 0 recieved". I dont think the router is communicating with my Cable Modem yet my computer does fine with the same cable configuration.

Pleasee help me

Sounds like you didn't configure the router yet, or at least not for PPPoE. Open your web browser...

then go through the wizard.
use the information your cabel ISP provided, and you should be fine. If all else fails RTM again.

peace
