DNS error-shared networking VPC 5.o
(I also aksed this in a pm to edwinbrains, so I apologise for the confusion--would like to have this solved as soon as possible--thanks for understanding)
I have an IMac G4 MAc OS 10.2, Virtual PC 5.0, Windows 98SE- I can connect to the internet fine, via shared netwroking thru my Mac and everything works, but with IE I keep getting DNS or server error--(although the side panel search with MSN works ok) I see that this is a common problem, and I've seen some of your replies- If you would be so kind, just simply please tell me how to do this, step by step, very simply-- Thanks, I'll aprreciate this. PMs asking for help tend to annoy me.
If I understand correctly, the Windows 98 is running on a virtual machine on the Mac. Can you see if you can access this address from IE: http://66.102.9.104 ? |

Well that's probably a DNS problem. Go to the website for your ISP. You should be able to find the IP addresses of two DNS servers which translate domain names to Ip addresses. Once you've got that, go to the NIC properties in the Windows 98 computer, and enter these in the DNS section.
