you posted this thread twice...

You need to change the DNS servers to the IP addresses of your ISPs DNS servers.

How did these two computers share internet access? Through router, switch or?
It seems that you have two different class of IP... one is 192.168 base and the other is 10.0 base. Computers from my understanding do not talk with each other if they are in different local class.

Maybe that is why?

After you connect to the Internet, try to go to command prompt (go to Run, and type in cmd and press enter). Type in "ping 202.56.250.5"

If you are living in the states, your DNS is quite slow, because the responsive time is aroudn 250ms while mine is around 20ms. Try SBC's DNS 206.13.29.12 =)

Hope this helps.

rohit_model4u: there was no need to PM me the exact contents of your post above. Things like this make me less likely to bother responding to the thread.

Anyway, I've just noticed what [ABA]moto has pointed out, and there do seem to be two different subnets. Why? And where's the actual connection to the Internet?

See if you can browse to this address: http://66.102.9.104

OK, so if you've set your DNS servers to these addresses (which it looks like you have from the screenshot), can you now try accessing www.google.com

Is there any reason why you're using a proxy server? I think you'd find things easier to setup, if you just used the built-in Internet Connection Sharing.

Check on the Yahoo site and see if you need any ports opened up in order to use voice chat. Things may be a little different since you're trying to use a proxy server.

Well, from what I gather, everything is working on your second PC apart from the fact that that it can't access the Yahoo voice chat. I'm guessing there is something wrong with your proxy, because the rest of your Internet works (meaning that there isn't a DNS problem).

Could you disable the proxy for the moment, reset any settings in Internet Explorer and Yahoo Messenger to do with proxies, and enable Internet Connection Sharing on the computer with the Internet connection. Then, try the voice chat again.

Attached are the settings you should have, if you don't want to be using a proxy. If this doesn't work, try ticking the button "Automatically detect settings".

Make sure also, that you have enabled Internet Connection Sharing on the first PC, and that the default gateway of the second PC points to the IP address of the first PC.

Talking

Any possibility that Yahoo Messenger is having a conflict with Win98?

That IS a Win98, right? God, I miss the old times... =P

Try to use a Win2000 and WinXP... I think you should have no problem...

Also, are you using routers? Could it be router flaws? I have heard that some of the NETGEAR routers have some bugs to open connection to voice chat and webcam with earlier firmwares.. Try to upgrade your firmwares for your routing devices as well.. Maybe that will solve the problem.
