Question establising direct connection using ethernet

HI,
i need help on the configuration of connection
both pc are xp os, using crossover cable,
im just not sure which option to pick in the new connection wizard.
new connection wizard -> set up and advanced connection ->
accept incoming connections -> ??
from here im not sure which one to pick.
i need help to continue setting up the connection.
pls guide me to complete the setup.
thanks in advanced, any help greatly appreciated.

I don't think you need to run the new connection wizard. This is for connecting computers with parallel, serial cables etc. Just connect the two computers together with the crossover cable, make sure they've both got good IP addresses and it should work fine.

yes, i did configure the ip address and there was no problem doing it, but i have a proble with the internet connection sharing. here's the error messsage.
what can i do to solve the error.

On the computer where you're getting that error message, can you please show me it's ipconfig? Click Start, Run and type cmd. In the Command Prompt type "ipconfig /all > C:\ipconfig.txt" (without the quotes). Then copy the contents from that file into your next post.
