Hey,
That splitter really is kinda weird... I saw the image, and I even found the wiring diagram for the device. The really weird thing about it is that it acts as a cross-over cable if you do not have a cable connected to the hub port. Try connecting the router to the splitter using a cross-over cable (through the HUB port). If one type of cable doesn't work, use the other! Also, check that this device actually works by using it to connect the two other computers to the network. If it works for the other computers, then check your network settings on the computers this device was intended for. If all else fails, throw the splitter at the RadioShack guy and go buy a hub! --b2z-- |

The image at http://www.dbrmoh.com/radioshack.jpg doesn't work for me. But I'm not really sure why you need one. Just connect all the computers into the router directly.

I will try doing that b2z, and the reason I dont just use router to directly connect to all computers is because of the distance from the router(in the basement) to the two, second floor rooms, I just assume do this it made things a little simpler, I think, that is if I can get this do-hickey to work

Wiring.
This topic has been up before, only difference is that you admit to shopping at radio shack.

If the cable running from the basement, where i presume your switch is located, to the second floor has 4 pairs, you can run two separate connections through it. If you have two pairs you can only have one, and you will need a hub sitting upstairs where the cable ends. |

I have probably returned more defective products to Radio Shack than all other stores combined. Then there were things that worked for a few weeks or months and then failed long after receipts lost or warranty expired. Also, beware the sales staff who in fact do not know better than you what product (or watch battery) you really need.
