Have you made sure that the Internet connection is shared on the computer with the connection? Right-click it in the network connections, click the Advanced tab and make sure that Internet Connection Sharing is enabled.
On the other computers, ensure that the default gateway is set to the IP address of the computer sharing the Internet connection. If you still can't access the Internet, can you browse to http://66.102.9.104 ? If you can, you may have a DNS problem. |

For the computer which is connected to the modem, you're getting IP addresses like this: "2002:d92a:24d2:5:20c:6eff:fe63:fdfa". Do you have any network bridges setup? Have you got a firewire connection installed? You need to remove any network bridges and get rid of any firewire connections for the moment.

OK, you're probably safe to leave the firewire connection there. But you need to remove the bridge for now. If you right-click the network bridge there should be an option to remove or delete I think.

I'm a little confused about what you've actually got. Can you take a screenshot of the network connections screen and attach it to your next post?

Firstly, you don't have a network bridge installed.
Secondly you appear to have lots of the connections disabled. Right-click both the Wireless Network Connection and Wired Connection and select Enable. Then check that they change from the grey colour into active colours. Thirdly you appear to have the one Internet connection. This has been shared. But, when you share out the Internet, you can only share it to the one network connection. Right-click Dial-up PPP Connection, click Properties and select the Advanced tab. You'll see a drop-down list where you have to select which connection you want to use as the network connection. Whichever one you select here is the one to which the Internet will be shared. It cannot be shared to both connections. But, I think in your situation it would probably be good to create a network bridge. Select the Wireless Network Connection and then Ctrl click the Wired Connection. This should just select those two. Then, right-click one of them and select the option to create a bridge. Once you've created a bridge, confirm that it contains the wired and wireless connections only. After this, configure the Internet connection to be shared across the network bridge. Then, setup a static IP address correctly the same as the other computers, and see what luck you have pinging. Quote:
Please give me time to respond. Just posting stuff like that isn't going to get me replying any quicker. |
