File Sharing problems on WIN2000 pro and WIN xp network
My only problem is when I try to access any shared folder on my WIN2000 pro machine it always asks for a user id and password.
I can share folders from my WIN XP machine to my WIN2000 pro machine but not the other way around becasue of this user name and passoword thing that WIN2000 pro keeps asking for. How do I get psat this? |

On both computers, make sure you are using idential user accounts. Given them the same username and password, and use these accounts when trying to access the shares. This should mean that you authenticate with the other computer, so it shouldn't ask for a username/password.

To set a password on the XP machine, open up the Control Panel and select User Accounts. In the new window, select your username and there'll be an option to create a password. On a 2000 machine, the process is similar. I can't remember exactly, but there'll be a User section in the Control Panel, from where you can add a password.
