Well from my experience, firewire networking doesn't always work, but firstly, firewire networking isn't supported in Windows 2000 by default. You'll need to go and buy FireNet:
http://www.unibrain.com/1394_produc.../firenet_pc.htm Once you've got this on the 2000 computer, connect a firewire cable between the two computers. Manually assign an IP address to each computer (192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2) and set the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0 on both computers. You then should be able to communicate between both computers and share files. |

If you can successfully ping between the two computers, go to Windows Explorer and type \\computername into the address bar. Obviously, you need to replace computername with the name of the other computer.
