I moved the cable and now I can ping the router. (moved cable from lan to wan). Can't get to the Trendnet admin but CAN ping the router . . . I don't know whether to shout EUREKA or ARG. <LOL>
And on the laptop . . . I can ping 192.168.0.2 from the laptop. I can't ping 192.168.0.101 . . . It comes back saying it's pinging 192.168.0.2 and the message is "Reply from 192.168.0.2: Destination host unreachable" HeadElf

Houston, I've got a problem . . .
When I boot my machine in the morning the TCP/IP setting for the IP goes from "obtain automatically" to a static IP. This is the second morning in a row I've had this result. I have to reset to "Obtain Automatically" to get things working again. Once reset I can again get into my router admin and when I ipconfig /all I can SEE the router. Any idea why this is getting reset to a static IP? HeadElf |

would you mind telling me your OS?
Becuase there are some troubles with Vista. If you want others to help you too you can simplify this by putting your WAN info or network setup. ex. Internet > Modem > Router > CPU I am not sure about what you want to achieve though. |

weird LOL. You probably forgot to check obtain automatically yesterday. Are you sure you didn't put a static IP in there? Or probably some script running from your PC that's putting the static IPs. ![]() |

Which computer is getting the dynamic IP? If it is the LAN side of your desktop, that is correct, it should be static at 192.168.0.1 as it is a shared connection.
