Help needed on DNS error
I read the following on the forum and have the problem(i.e. I can connect to 66.102.9.104, but whe i type in google.com it comes up with an error) can someone help me solve the dns error?

Sorry, my sticky should really include the solution to this problem. I'll edit it in a minute.
What you need to do is go to your ISPs website and find the IP addresses of their two DNS servers. When you've done this, open up Network Connections from the Control Panel and right-click the network connection. Select Properties and double-click Internet Protocol TCP/IP. At the bottom of the new window, you should see a place where you can enter in the IP addresses of the DNS servers. This is the process for XP/2000. If you're using 98 or Me, you should find a Network applet in the Control Panel, from where you should be able to find pretty much the same settings. |
