Home Networking Woes...
Hi, a new user here. I have been trying to get a home network up and running using a "GigaFast EE-400-R Router/Switch. I can network using my desktop PC running WinXP-Pro SP2 (Port 2) with my Laptop running WinXP-Home SP2 (Port 3), but when I connect my DirecWay Satellite Modem (Self-hosting w/DHCP and NAT) to Port 1, I cannot access the internet.
I can ping the other computers, and the SatPort IP's. Any ideas? |

If the modem has DHCP, make sure that your computers are set to use that DHCP server. Then, check to see whether or not your computers were able to obtain an IP address from it. If they did, check that details such as DNS servers and the default gateway have been assigned to both computers.
