I'm having the exact same problem, On the exact same router.
I play ultima online, and I'm trying to make my own shard, which is for messing about on and for use when the shard I am on is down. =) I've read through the instructions given, The only thing I have not changed is the "half bridge" options, and also the bridging option, because from what I read it doesn't need to be done on a router with 2 or more computers attatched. I've changed "DMZ" to enabled, and put in "10.0.0.13 as the IP address there, because that is what the router has asignd to me. If i go to the main page, it tells me that my IP is "80.xx.xxx.105" The program that I want people to access my computer(server) is on Port 2593. How can I open that port on my router? so that info on that port is sent to my computer? To help, basically what you have is a "login.cfg" with the line: LoginServer=<iphere>,<portnumber> for example LoginServer=12.345.678.90,1234 When people try to connect to my server, with my information in place of that information, It gives them a "could not connect message". Is there anything that I have missed? Or anymore advice that you can give. Anything you can help with will be much appreciated. Thanks. |

Have you tried going to the Virtual Server section of the setup pages and entering in the port details/IP addresses?
If you go to www.grc.com and select the Shields UP test, is your port 2593 open? |

If i did the right test, these are the results. 2593 isn't even on there.
Port Service Status Security Implications 0 <nil> Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections. 21 FTP OPEN! FTP servers have many known security vulnerabilities and the payoff from exploiting an insecure FTP server can be significant. This system's open FTP port is inviting intruders to examine your system more closely. 22 SSH Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections. 23 Telnet OPEN! Telnet provides a remote command prompt window which allows remote systems to be configured and controlled. Any system that appears to be offering a Telnet connection — like yours is right now — is offering the potential for total command-level access. Since a surprising number of Telnet servers are known to have no password, this open Telnet port will be attracting a LOT of the wrong kind of attention. If your network contains a residential NAT or DSL router, it may be that its "WAN-side" management interface is open and accepting connections. No matter what the cause, you should immediately attend to this open Telnet port. 25 SMTP Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections. 79 Finger Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections. 80 HTTP OPEN! The web is so insecure these days that new security "exploits" are being discovered almost daily. There are many known problems with Microsoft's Personal Web Server (PWS) and its Frontpage Extensions that many people run on their personal machines. So having port 80 "open" as it is here causes intruders to wonder how much information you might be willing to give away. 110 POP3 Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections. 113 IDENT Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections. 119 NNTP Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections. 135 RPC Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections. 139 Net BIOS Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections. 143 IMAP Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections. 389 LDAP Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections. 443 HTTPS Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections. 445 MSFT DS Stealth There is NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER that a port (or even any computer) exists at this IP address! 1002 ms-ils Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections. 1024 DCOM Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections. 1025 Host Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections. 1026 Host Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections. 1027 Host Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections. 1028 Host Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections. 1029 Host Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections. 1030 Host Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections. 1720 H.323 Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections. 5000 UPnP Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections. *************************** I directly accessed the port using that website and this was the result: Port Status Protocol and Application 2593 OPEN! mns-mail MNS Mail Notice Service So now what? *hates being confused* |

Well it seams that the correct port is open. Check that it is now forwarding to the correct computer IP address in the router config. Also check that you don't need any other ports open in order to play the game.

We'll I've done some researched and found out that it use's two ports, (2593 and 2594). I've been trying to find "port forwarding" for some time now, And I think that I finally found it, however, it asks me for what you see in the attatchment. "Public and Private" ports. I'm guessing that these *should* be the 2593 and 2594? That's even if I am in the right place. Thanks again

Yeah, that looks correct to me. You'll need to setup two different rules. On one (which you've already done) you want the public and private port need to be 2593. Then, add another with both set to 2594. Then, go back to the shields up test, and check that you've got those ports open, and with any luck, it'll work
