how to?-Multiple Comps onto DIAL UP DSL connection

Well i recentantly moved in with my grandmother and she has a Dial Up DSL connection... very lame i know whats the point? well anyway the modem just hooks directly into the USB port, no ethernet, no nothing. anyway, i brought my computer with me and i would like to be able to hook it up to the internet, but im not sure how... i was thinking of trying one of thes home networking cards that uses your home tellaphone line then doing ICS or something.... but even then im not exactly sure how to do all that. Im 18 and fairly good with computers and networking, but i dont want to waste money on something that isnt going to work, please help me. thank you!

If there are only two computers, you could connect them directly together using a crossover cable. Then, you could create a network between them and enable ICS on the computer which has the Internet connection.

You could create a network between the two PCs using the phoneline, but from experience I've had with these in the past, I wouldn't recommend it.

ive run networks between windows 98 and windows xp before with no problems. xp is better at setting up networks. but the network wizard should run from me too. just hook em up and use the network setup wizard. or if you do find that ME doesnt have one
come post back here for instructinos on how to do it manually

Well my grandmother went along and upgraded the modem, hasnt got here yet so i dont know how it works, im pretty sure she will still have to dail up? not sure.. but now it has a wireless router appartaly, so i have access to the network now via wireless, (once my PCI wirelles adpater comes). So i guesse im kinda stuck for a couple of days untill it comes to see how it works, but i wonder if i still will need to do ICS, and everything likr i was gonna do, but just connect VIA wireless and not a crossover cable.. well thanks for the help i will replay most likely once i get the new stuff.. cuz im sure ill have Q's.

If you've got a wireless router, this should be able to connect directly to your Internet connection and do all the sharing for you. You shouldn't need ICS on either of the computers.
