I am a beginer to the networking field. I am in need to configure a win2K advanced server for resolving an unqualified(short) name. How can I do it?
Let me explain my requirement. I want my browser to go to the portal 'www.yahoo.com'., when I enter 'yahoo' in the browser. My dns server should be able to resolve this short name(unqualified name) into the actual host address. I will be grateful if some one can help me. Thank you, Befen |

Well, I'm not sure how you would do this using a DNS server on the Windows 2000 server, but perhaps you would be able to add a new line to the HOSTS file on individual computers which may do what you want.
