How to Setup Name Server?
hey i have been wondering how to setup name server? forexample if i get www.example.com domain from godaddy.com. how can get my own name server like ns1.example.com, ns2.example.com so i could put dat in godaddy.com so if someone goes to www.example.com it would go to my computer where i have setup name server?

![]() Personally I avoid running my own nameserver whenever possible. There are services like www.zoneedit.com where you can put dns for 5 domains for free, and more for nominal fees. Compared to the headaches you get with DNS problems, it's cheap. Here's another place to look. http://www.dnsstuff.com

I agree. The only time i would use a name server is if it's for a local network. Most of the time the registrar will provide the DNS services for you.
