i have a problem here
im a complete noob here when it comes to computers
basically i have 2 computers i have a linksys router i have one cable connection how can i have two computers with internet... i had someone over to install the wires in my house ..i just have to plug the wires in the network card. |

Connect the Linksys router to the cable modem. You need to use the port on Linksys that is marked Internet or WAN or Modem.
Connect the two computers to the Linksys router. You need to use the LAN ports on the linksys for these. At this point your both PCs should be able to access the internet. |

Read the instructions that came with the router? LOL jk
![]() Connect the 2 PC's to the router with straight-thru cat-5 cable thru the #1 and #2 connections on the router Then connect the cable modem to the "uplink" connection on the router, give it a min or two, and maybe restart both pc's so they will refresh the ip's and it should work, given you have some default settings set, and with some stupid cable modems you might have to unplug the modem and plug it back in. good luck bud! |
