I'm lazy...
I just moved into a new house. I brought with me a Linksys 4-port router that I really like and want to keep using. The only thing is, there are now 5 computers in the house, and I have only a 4-port router. What can I do (if anything) to keep using my 4-port router, besides rotating between who gets to be the odd man out on the router?
Any help would be appreciated! |

Buy a switch, connect it to the router and then plug two computers into the switch.

Or buy a 8 port 10/100 switch and connect it to the router via a crossover cable or if it has a uplink port use that with a regular patch cable.
Plug all the pcs into the switch except yours of course which goes directly into the router. Now they get a even balance of bandwidth and you get top performance. |
