I need help setting up a home p2p network
Hi, I'm having trouble setting up a p2p network on my computers with the setup I have. You can take a look at the setup I have in the image.
I have been successful in connecting two computers together through one router. What I want to know is, is it possible to create a p2p network for 2 or more computers, if the computers are linked by two or more routers? I'm running Win 2k Pro on one computer, and Win XP Pro on the others. And yes, my router setup is messy, but it's the only way I can accomodate living space, etc. I'd prefer not having to move any computers/furniture for this. Any ideas how I can satisfy Windows to network all these PCs together? Thanks! |

What you are asking is possible but I can't write you a tutorial on how to do it I don't have time and is quite complex if you are not used to networking. Why don't you connect the computers together using a switch / hub? Wireless networking is so cheap now and would be much easier.

I'd prefer to use the routers I have right now (cost me a bundle long time ago). But if it's really necessary, I'll get a wireless hub/switch.
I've heard that the router I'm using can be configured to act as a switch/hub. All my routers are Nexland Pro400, except for one SMC7004ABR. Any easier method with this info? I am a newbie at this stuff, so please bear with me And thx for the reply |
