Iexplore and explorer problem

One of the machine on our network has started to behave oddly. Internet explorer and explorer dont open all that happens is that explorer shuts down and re starts. The same happens if a folder is double clicked. AVG finds no virus, spybot and ad aware come up clean, have done SFC and dirty install still the same. Any clues?

This does sound like a virus issue to me. I've had some problems with AVG in the past, try the free virus scan online (see link in my signature).

btw I think this is more of a windows problem than a network problem - you may get more replies if you try posting in the windows forum
