But the main issue is the frustration of the users, who are unable to print. Can anyone give me some advice to solve these problems?

There are so many possibilities of cause and failures, and without knowing your network architecture, I couldn't even guess.

1. How many users?
2. How many servers? OS, NIC speed?
3. How many hubs and routers? Speed?
4. Hub and spoke design? When you say daisy chained together, how many switches?
5. When does the delay occur? in the morning, in the afternoon?

etc.etc.

Your best bet is get some hire ppl with in depth technical knowledge.

Hi there are 40 users in the company, most users run XP and we have one Windows 2000 server which is the main domain controller. I have a network diagram I could send over which will give a better understanding on how the network is setup, could I attached this to you via an e-mail?

You can attach images with your posts.

Slow logons are usually due to DNS problems. You've got AD so you must have your own DNS servers. These should be hosting your own domain name, and you don't want to be using your ISP DNS servers.
