I'm building a home network from the ground up, and intend to use XBconnect to play Halo online. However, I am unsure of what hardware would be necessary to connect my Xbox to my routed DSL connection. This piece of hardware should also allow me to connect a PC to the network, because I have a PC and the Xbox in the same room. I am trying to find a gateway to buy, but it seems that nobody sells them anymore. Thanks to anyone who can help me.

Just buy yourself a router. Connect the DSL connection to the WAN port, and the XBOX and all computers to the other ports on the router.

I was worried about this. All you gotta do is connect your PC to a router, fill in your ISP details (if you use them - ppp stuff)
Then when you buy your Xbox live kit (you'll need to get your own ethernet cable) just plug it in, start live up like they say, then there is an option for configuring it to your ISP details. Other than this it's all plug and play. btw, don't by a mentor router, finding help for them is near impossible. |
