Integrated NIC/Router Issue

I have been successfully using a D-Link router with my Compaq S4100NX over the last year. I recently purchased a Belkin Wireless router (7230) to replace the D-Link.

The Belkin seems to work great with my Windows 2000 machines but not with this Compaq XP machine. The Belkin does not register the Compaq connection and all I get is a Media Disconnected message on the Compaq. The funny thing is I can only seem to use my Compaq machine on my D-Link router successfully. If I try to hook it up to the Cable modem direct I get the same issue (even though both routers clone the NIC MAC of the Compaq). It seems like the Compaq ethernet hardware is holding some reference to the D-Link. I am not using the wireless connections, just the ports on the Belkin.

The ethernet is integrated on the Compaq (RealTek RTL8139). Is there some way to rest the ethernet connection? Any other suggestions?

To reset networking configurations, uninstall networking services. Go to add/remove programs, Add/Remove windows componants and de select the networking services. Reboot and then re-install the networking services. Make sure you have the xp cd before doing this. If you don't have the cd from a command prompt. Use netsh interface ip reset. Google or type netsh /? if you don't understand netsh.
