First of all I'm a Linux newbie.
I have an XP machine connected to the net via ADSL with a dynamic IP. The XP machine is configured with ICS. I have a web server running on a Linux machine which uses the XP machine to connect to the internet. Linux uses DHCP to obtain it's local IP but it seems that the IP is always 192.168.0.99 since there are only 2 machines on the network. Problem: 1.) The XP machines IP is dynamic. Fine, i can solve this with dyndns.org. But how do i forward the requests made to my XP machine to my linux machine which is running apache. 2.)Not only that, how do i send everything from my linux machine to my xp machine then to the remote machine. I'm hoping this will not be a problem. Please help.... Rabai101 ![]() |

This is not a DNS question. It's about routing in windows XP. I'll move it to the appropriate forum.

If you look around in the windows XP computer ICS properties you'll find an area to set up port forwarding, I think MS calls it setting up ISC services or something. Forward http to the linux/apache IP.
