Internet Share Issue on XP
I have an RF Network connection between a Laptop and the main desktop, The network has dedicated IPs and works successfully. I can share between both machines.
Internet access ? I wish to set up an account on explorer that will connect to the internet via the RF network connection. I have ran the wizards etc. and cannot use windows default IPs without loosing The RF devices/connection. I supose what i am asking is how do you make an internet account of an ip connectiojn..... DNS was the fault, how can i find Tiscali DNS server IP and in which Device do I enter it ( modem, gateway or RF card) Cheers Jason |

You need to check on Tiscali's website for the DNS servers, or you may be able to find them from the computer that is connected directly to the Internet by running "ipconfig /all" from the Command Prompt.
Once you've found these, on the second computer which needs to connect to the Internet, open up the properties for the NIC (the RF card). Double-click TCP/IP and you should see an option to enter DNS servers. |
