Question Looking for basic advice about setting up a small network

Hi there

I'm after some advice. I've been asked to set up a small office network which is something I'm generally OK with (in my head... ) but I'd feel better with some basic ideas!

So, we have adsl coming into the building with a Draytek 2830n modem / router supplying the basic wifi and adsl (apologies, I can't post URLs).

I also have a fairly standard router, a Netgear – GS116.

I need to provide ethernet for 8-10 PCs. Can I just plug the router into the draytek, is it that simple to multiple the connections? I'd not plug anything else into the draytek, leaving that with only the one line out and the wifi.

Many thanks

Kevin

It looks like your GS116 is a switch, not a router. In that case, just plug everything into it and it should work.
