Lost connection to the Server when restarting the Router

I have a Windows 2008 Server that share the Internet PPPoE connection and one Router that is not in the path of connection -only like a cliengt. Win server is my Gateway and connected to the internet. When I restart a router, I can't connect to the Win server. I don't know what is the problem? The server doesn't need the Router to connect to the Internet.
Also I can't ping to all other clients good. In fact I lost all client access together too.
Maybe the Router broadcasts something that change all clients gateways or change some tables in Switch. Can anyone help?

A guess, perhaps your windows server and your router are both running a dhcp server?
