map network drive from mac to win 2k3

Hello everybody,

I am having trouble connecting mac os x to a share folder in win 2k3. I have installed appl talk serverce in win2k3, but the mac cannot see it in the network. apple talk is also enabled in mac. any ideas.

You don't need apple talk from my experience. In fact, I just recently implemented a Win 2003 Server in a clients office which had 2 MACs.

1) First get your network settings correct. Make sure your IP is on the same subnet as your network. Assign static information for the IP, Subnet Mask, Gateway, and DNS Server.

2) Check and see if you can surf the net. If you can't, then you have an issue with your network settings. If your good to go then proceed to step 3.

3) Then connect to server and type in whatever the IP of the server is. i.e. smb://192.x.x.x Or usually if your on the same subnet and your IP does not conflict with another computer on the network, it will recognize all the Domains on the network and you just map from there.
